Compassionate Healing is pleased to announce a new group offering that continues to align with our professional values related to supporting families and parents. Rhode to Wellness, a group that strives to provide a safe and supportive place for moms to manage stress, reclaim personal identity, and create connections with other Rhode Island moms.

Jenny DeSilva, LMHC, created Rhode to Wellness and will be supporting members throughout their time in the group. Jenny will bring over 10 years of experience to the group, with particular speciality in working with families and offering a trauma-informed approach.

The experience of motherhood can lead to many difficult mental health experiences. Early on in the experience, even if a new mom can avoid the development of a postpartum mood disorder (postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, or psychosis), a significant number of parents report experiencing a significant amount of isolation and loneliness. Many parents experience sleep deprivation, relationship strains, and a variety of other stressors in those first few months and  years, let alone those that come as their children grow and age. We hope that our group will meet the unique needs of moms in the local community.

The group hopes to start meeting at the beginning of August virtually on Thursdays, 10:30a-12p. We do ask for an eight week commitment. Should you be interested in learning more, please feel free to give us a call at 401-484-1214 or reach out via our contact form.
